Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) will soon launch housing scheme in Sector 53

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) will soon launch a housing scheme at Sector 53 of the city. The scheme has got approval from the planning committee of the City Administration, and the CHB has also commenced the geo-technical survey of the area.

CHB now plans to develop housing societies in Sector 53, and for this it will utilize the open area in Sector 53. Under the new housing scheme, houses of different categories will be constructed. This will include 120 one-room flats, 100 two-room flats and 200 three-room flats, and 80 flats for the EWS (economically weaker sections). CHB is yet to finalize the price for these flats.

CHB will launch the new housing scheme at a bigger level in the city. Last year in April, CHB had launched similar scheme for 200 two bedroom flats. However, that scheme failed to get a nice response from the public due to high cost of the units, and only 225 people applied for a flat under this scheme. This time, however, CHB officials are expecting a better response from the people.

The construction for the flat is expected to star in coming months.
