CBSE Class 12 Results Likely to be Announced by May 24, 2017

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to announce the CBSE Class 12th Board Exam 2017 results by May 24, 2017, according to some reports. Students who appeared in the exam can check their result on the official website cbse.nic.in, once the results are declared.

Last year, the CBSE Class 12 results were declared on May 21. This year, there are chances of CBSE Class 12th results being delayed by a couple of days.

In 2017, these CBSE exams started late due to assembly elections in 5 states. This led to exams concluding late by normal standards. Presently, the exam papers are in the final stage of marking/checking, and once it is complete, CBSE will start preparing the final results.

The link for final results of Class 12th will be activated on the official CBSE website after the declaration of the result.

In 2016 CBSE class 12 results, 83.05% students were passed, that was 1.05% higher than the previous year of 2015. Girls performed better than boys in CBSE class 12 results. Girls’ pass percentage was 88.58%, while boys’ pass percentage was 78.85%. 2016 was the second consecutive year when the CBSE declared class 12 results for all ten regions on the same day.

Last year, the pass percentage of girls for class 12 was 88.58%; for boys, it was 78.85%. Thiruvananthapuram region in Kerala had highest pass percentage in the country with 97.61%. According to CBSE, 83.05% students passed the exam, 2.38 per cent higher than 2015.

Delhi Girl Sukriti Gupta got first rank in the CBSE Class 12 board exams with 99.4 per cent. Sukriti Gupta, a student of Montfort School, Ashok Vihar, scored 497 marks out of 500. Palak Goel from Tagore Public School in Kurukshetra, Haryana got second rank with 496 marks. Somy Uppal from St Theresa’s Convent School in Haryana’s Karnal and Ajish Sekar from PSBB Senior Secondary School, Chennai got third rank. They both have scored 495 marks.

CBSE’s new initiatives also allowed students to get their digital marksheet from DigiLocker.

In 2016, a total of 14,99,122 students had applied for the Class 12 examination.
