BSNL’s Latest Plan is Offering 10GB Wire Broadband Data a Day for Rs 249

To counter Reliance Jio’s Summer Surprise, BSNL has come out with a new plan for its broadband users. The telecom company is now offering 10 GB of data per day to its broadband users for Rs 249. However, the plan doesn’t offer free calling all times. BSNL’s free calling in this plan will only be available between 9 PM and 7 AM. The calling boundation won’t be applicable on Sundays.

Despite that, the data being offered by BSNL is by far the maximum offered by any major telecom company in the country. BSNL says the data speed in Rs 249 plan will be limited to 2Mbps.

“Experience #BSNL’s unlimited wireline broadband plan and get 10GB per day,” the company tweeted on April 1, 2017.

For its mobile customers, BSNL has introduced Rs 339 plan which offers 56 GB of bundled data, “unlimited calls” at BSNL network and 25 minutes of calling at other networks.

On March 31, Mukesh Ambani announced the Summer Surprise offer, which gives users 3 months of data service by paying only charges for one month.

Recently, MTNL also introduced a new Rs 319 plan offering 2GB data per day and call benefits to customers.  With MTNL’s 319 plan, users enjoy unlimited calling within MTNL’s network, and 25 minutes of free call to other networks in a single day.

BSNL was founded in October 2000, and is headquartered in New Delhi. BSNL is an Indian state-owned telecommunications company which offers fixed line and mobile telephony, Internet, and digital television services to its customers. Prior to creation of BSNL, telecom services in India were being provided by Central Government Departments of Telecom Services (DTS) and Telecom Operations (DTO).
