GATE 2017 Results Declared, Check Your Result at This Link

The result of GATE 2017 exam has been declared by IIT Roorkee.

This year, IIT Roorkee had organized the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 exam in February, and the answer keys were uploaded in March for candidates to verify their answers.

Who Holds GATE Exam?

Every year, GATE test is held on behalf of IITs and IISc to test the comprehensive understanding of a candidate for various undergraduate subjects in science and engineering subjects.

Exam Pattern

In GATE exam, candidates have to attempt a single paper containing 65 questions and carrying a maximum of 100 marks. This paper is of 3-hour duration, and includes multiple choice questions as well as numerical answer type questions. In this paper, 10 questions of General Aptitude carry a total of 15 marks.

There is no limit on the number of attempts for GATE exam. However, all leading PSUs in India put a restriction of 27 year on age for candidates.

Who is Eligible to Appear in GATE Exam

  • Individuals holding Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2/ Post-B.Sc./ Post-Diploma) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
  • Individuals holding Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
  • Candidates in the second or higher year of Four-year integrated master’s degree programs (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology.
  • Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year integrated master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering/Technology.
  • Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech.
  • Candidates who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
