Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to Go on Sale in India from Today

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the successor of highly successful Redmi Note 3 smartphone, is going on sale in India from today via Flipkart and Mi.com. The new smartphone will be available in Grey and Gold variants (Silver not listed yet). A new Matte Black color variant will also come soon in the markets.

Also only the grey and gold color versions are available, the new matte black finish version is not listed for sale on either of the portals.

In India, the dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is being launched in three variants: the 2GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage; 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage; and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model. The internal storage is expandable up to 128 GB with microSD card. All models 4 feature a metal unibody design, with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass IPS display.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 octa-core SoC processor coupled with the Adreno 506 GPU. The phone runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and has a rear 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and 77-degree wide angle lens. The front 5-megapixel camera is coupled with an 85-degree wide angle lens. Connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, and Infrared.  On board sensors include ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and electronic compass. The rear panel of the device bears a fingerprint sensor.

The company is giving a large 4100mAh battery – the USP of the new Redmi Note 4. According to Xiaomi, the new Snapdragon 625 processor with 14nm FinFET technology is more power efficient, and provides a better battery performance. The phone sports dual speakers at the bottom unlike Note 3 that had speaker grille at the back.

The 2GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage model is priced at Rs. 9,999. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage model will be available for Rs. 10,999, while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model is priced at Rs. 12,999.

Xiaomi says it sold about 3 million Redmi Note 3 smartphones in India last year and hopes to make the figure double for new Redmi Note 4.
