Apple has announced to release the final version of iOS 10 on September 13. The announcement was made at September 7 product event.

iOS 10 is being said to be the biggest update to Apple’s mobile OS so far. The iOS 10 update will support iPhone 5 and newer, iPad 4 and newer, sixth-gen iPod Touch. Apple has reportedly made extensive changes to the way the iOS 10 works and looks. Major changes have been made in Control Center, the Today View, notifications, and the lock screen. A major update has been done to the Siri digital assistant. Siri will now offer improved image searches, write text messages, and also handle transcribing voicemails. Apple’s decision to open up Siri for developers means users can now ask Siri to book an Uber with their voice or send a message to a friend on WhatsApp.

VoIP app makers can use the CallKit to work just like Apple’s built-in Phone and FaceTime apps. The Messages app will now get it own mini-App Store.

iOS 10 will also feature a Universal Clipboard in iOS 10 that will enable users to copy text/images from their iPhone and paste them on Mac.

Several changes have been done to the lock screen. Widgets usage is being expanded in iOS 10. It’ll now be possible to interact with notifications/widgets through 3D Touch.

The new iOS 10 update will not support a few older iPhone hardware, including iPad 2, iPhone 4S, iPad Mini, and iPod Touch. The devices that iOS 10 will support include iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, and 7 Plus, iPad 4, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2, iPad Pros, iPad Mini 2 and newer, and sixth-generation iPod Touch.

Users will now be able to remove most built-in apps in Apple iOS 10. Messaging feature will also get major overhaul, with Apple Music integration, use of animations for messages, and bigger emoji.  Apple Music has been redesigned with improved UI and better built-in lyrics.
